The effect of taxation of state subsidies on the demand for building savings
MIRVALDOVÁ, Jitka
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyze the effect of the amount of state subsidies on the demand for building savings as represented by the number of new contracts for building savings accounts. Specifically tested was the hypothesis that the 50% taxation rate of state subsidies in 2010 would negatively affect the volume of new contracts for building savings accounts in the following period. The analysis of this thesis is based on the monthly data of one representative Czech building savings bank and on quarterly data from across the Czech Republic, both in the period 2000 - 2012. Using a method of time series decomposition with following extrapolation, a positive effect of the amount of state subsidies on the number of new contracts was found. Furthermore, despite only being in effect for a short time, the 50% taxation rate was found to have a negative effect on the demand for building savings based on the quarterly data from across the Czech Republic. This negative effect cannot be verified according to the monthly data of one representative Czech building savings bank.
The development of the selected economic indicators of the former Eastern Block countries after accession to the European Union
Chorvátová, Martina ; Zeman, Jan (advisor) ; Musil, Petr (referee)
This bachelor thesis analyses the level of the change of the economic situation and performance in the countries which were part of the Eastern block in the past after joining the European Union. The selected countries are Slovakia, Estonia, Slovenia, Bulgaria and Romania. The main objective of this thesis is to analyze, on the basis of selected economic indicators, the positive and negative consequences of the countries entry into the EU on the economic performance of the country, but also to analyze the development of the economy over the whole period under review. Another objective is to analyze the dependence between the selected economic indicators. The calculation itself is based on the calculations of the average growth rate, the average absolute increment and the correlation coefficient. Another method used in the analysis is the decomposition of the times series of the economic indicators to the trend and cyclic component using Hodrick Prescott filter and the evaluation of the coherence among chosen indicators. The benefit of this work is to compare the economic performance of the selected countries before and after joining EU and then to answer the question whether the entry into the EU would be beneficial for the other countries that have not been yet classified as EU member states. The analysis is based on the data available in the Eurostat database using the EViews and MS Excel software.

Analysis of the selected economic time series
BEDNÁŘOVÁ, Michaela
The goal of this bachelors work was to analyse the selected time series by using the methods of evaluating data. These time series describe the average wage in the finance and insurance industry. With the help of regression analysis to determine and adjust the trend, identify and set seasonality (you can also say make trend and seasonal decomposition). Another task was to make an appropriate model, which will describe the analysed data the most accurately. Than in the end to verify all of these calculations and facts by special statistical tests, to be able to make a prediction about the future development of the average wages. However at first, the readers of this work were familiarized with the issues of the time series. I described their use and the ways in which can the timely collected data be analysed, and I gave some examples of the time series. I also mentioned the characteristic of the analysed data, which were found on CSU. In the end of this work I summarized all the results and answers, based on the discussion in this bachelors work. By executing all of my tasks I can say that I fulfilled my bachelor work.
ANALYSIS OF THE COMPANY USING TIME SERIES METHODS AND FINANCIAL ANALYSIS
KÚNOVÁ, Lucie
The goal of my bachelor work was to analyze the company Profi - Service, Ltd., which I chose for it. I have divided the work into two parts. In the first part I focused on the analysis of time series development of the profit. Firstly described the behavior of this series and modeled it using different models. The first model I focused on is the small trend method. Then I created model with seasonality regression. In the end of this section I will make a spectral analysis. Based on these models, I tried to predict the future development of the profit. For the calculation of some values I used program Statistika. In the second part, I focused not only on the financial analysis of the company Profi - Service, Ltd., but for making comparison, I made financial analysis for the company Uniclean, Ltd. too. The resulting values of indicators were also compared with industry averages. I started with evaluative indicators, next I made the analysis of funds and finaly I made a pyramidal decomposition of indicator the return of equity.
Finanční plánování v podniku
Voráček, Lukáš ; Hnilica, Jiří (advisor)
The aim of this study is to certify the legitimacy of employing quantitative methods in the day-to-day business practice. The task is approached as a case study of a real-life financial planning process. I work with the financial data of POS Media Czech Republic (a media company providing point-of-sale advertising solutions). My intention is to simulate the projection of a pro forma income statement with the use of quantitative methods. More specifically, I am applying time series prediction techniques in order to forecast POS Media's sales. The goal is, first, to demonstrate that quantitative techniques can be handled even with limited statistical background and, second, to discuss the relevancy of the obtained results. In the methodical part of my thesis I deal with the theoretical aspects of financial planning. I further describe various methods of sales forecasting (qualitative vs. quantitative). Special emphasis is put on time series prediction methods. In the application part I provide a short description of POS Media and its business. I use time series decomposition techniques to predict POS Media's sales in 2012. Consequently, I outline the rest of the pro forma income statement.
